Born in Dorsey, Mississippi Steven learned to sew by hand under the watchful eyes of his mother and grandmother to becoming an architectural force in the New York fashion circuit, Steven Davis is the definition of a self-made visionary. As the CEO and Creative Director Steven Davis New York, his work represents a lifelong dialogue between artisanal tradition and industrial innovation.
Davis' formal journey began at Miss Wade's Fashion Merchandising College, in Dallas, Texas in where he earned his Professional Certification in Fashion Merchandising and Design, followed by specialized studies in menswear and womenswear at F.I.T. This technical foundation allowed him to bridge the gap between rural craftsmanship and big-city ambition.
Upon arriving in Manhattan, Davis became a central figure in the legendary New York underground club scene, hosting the grand opening of Club USA, and hosting regularly at other iconic NY hotspots like Limelight, The Tunnel, and Palladium immersing himself in the "Club Kid" culture that would forever influence his aesthetic. His career reached new heights during his tenure at the iconic House of Field, sering as a protege and one of the stylists for Patricia Field. Today, Davis is renowed for his signature structural silhouettes and high-end fiberglass corsetry pieces that have graced the pages of over 100 international publications, including L'OFFICIEL, GLAMOUR, PAPER MAGAZINE, HARPER'S BAZAAR.
While his namesake couture line pushes the boundaries of sculpture and form, his diffusion streetwear brand, V.O.N. VICTIMS OF the NIGHT, brings that same underground grit to the pulse of the streets. Beyond the atelier, Davis is expanding his influence into media as the creator and host of the upcoming public access show, "Fashion After Dark" where he explores the intersection of style, subculture, and the city that never sleeps.
